Are Macs Really Cheaper To Manage Than PCs?

Does “I’m a Mac” mean “I’m less expensive to manage?” An Enterprise Desktop Alliance survey says Macs cost a lot less than PCs to manage — yet Macs come with special challenges for enterprise IT admins.
Keep in mind that Enterprise Desktop Alliance is a group of software developers who’ve bandied together to deploy and manage Macs in the enterprise. The group surveyed 260 IT administrators in large U.S. companies with both Macs and PCs who are involved in some degree with IT cost calculations. Enterprise Desktop Alliance members include Centrify, Absolute Software, Group Logic, Web Help Desk, and most recently IBM.

BELLEVUE, WA — JF Designs was excited to be selected to create a web site for Seattle vocal artist Fahren (www.fahrenmusiq.com). The project encompassed architecting and programming a Flash Animation design to promote Fahren’s singing talent. The site features information about her performance schedules, contact information and a multimedia gallery of her modeling photographs. FahrenMusiq.com also features MP3 downloads of some of her music that will be featured on her upcoming debut CD entitled “Out the Blue”.
JF Designs was tasked with the project of creating a web presence that was both intuitive, informative and cutting edge in consumer design. “The site design offers a strategic design advantage for Fahren” says Jay Forde of JF Designs. The art layout design was created by Sigurd Gustafussn, and JF Designs provided the Flash animation project management of this new web site to capture the energy of Fahren’s Soulful Inspiration and deliver an impactful visual result.
Fahren says, “I know who I am. I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. These are the fundamental truths that will never change and I recognize and love that I am all of these things first. I believe that everyone has a story, the question is; can you handle the vulnerability of being transparent about your life? I realize that every trial and triumph, every joy and pain, has shaped me into the woman I am today. My song comes from deep within; it truly comes from my soul”.
With a sassy style and ready spirit, Fahren is emerging onto the music scene introducing to the world a new genre of music “Inspirational Soul”, which is destined to take root in the hearts of Soul, Jazz, R&B and Gospel lovers alike.
“I believe that it is not about how I came to be, but who I am going to be while I am living and breathing on this earth”.
At the age of six months, she became a ward of the state. She was placed in the foster home of middle aged, southern born couple, that later adopted her as their own at the age of eight. It was her adopted mother that recognized at an early age, her many talents, one being her love for music and writing.
A writer by nature, Fahren’s musical background as a youth embraced all styles of music, from gospel, rock to classical and R%26B. Having been raised in church that sang precisely a cappella music, Fahren credits her vocal training to years of singing with out the accompaniment of instruments. The pivotal moment of her love for soul music came when she encountered a stack of Earth, Wind and Fire, Chaka Khan and Evelyn Champaign King albums in her home, and it has never let her go to this day.
“When I think of Soul music, I think of sounds and lyrics that soothe the mind and the heart”.
And Soul music is what her genre is all about. With her smooth alto cum tenor voice splits, and lyrics that bounce like spoken word in an urban cafe, Fahren’s sound encourages and lifts by design. From the inspiring opening lyrics.” the peace that rocks me gently didn’t come so easily: of her title track “Out the Blue” reveals her personal testimony of overcoming. She encourages the listener to never give up because …” life is what you make it”… The passions of her life are the heart of her testimonies. Through her message and her music, she engages your ear to listen. She has supported and encouraged many local bands as a background vocalist, patiently waiting and preparing for her time to arrive onto the music scene “Out the Blue”.
